Thailand: King and Prime Minister urge peaceful resolution of political crisis

(VOVworld)- In his Royal New Year Message, Thai King Bhumibol Adulyadej urged people to always think about national interests and values.

The King stressed that everyone’s desire is unlikely to be different; they wish for themselves happiness and prosperity and want the nation to be peaceful and secure.
Meanwhile, Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra called for a peaceful resolution of political separation. The message was posted on her official Facebook page, saying that all Thai people can unite to find a peaceful solution to the country, despite their differences of political ideology and belief. Yingluck promised to devote her efforts to re-establishing national unity.
A spokesperson for the Democratic Party announced that the Party will conduct dialogues with other organizations on Thursday about how to reform Thailand. Previously, the Democracy Party said it will boycott the general election scheduled to take place this Friday and asked for political reform prior to the election.
