(VOVWORLD) - The Prime Minister has approved a zoning for the reception of gas from Blue Whale gas field connected to processing factory in Tam Quang commune, Nui Thanh district in Chu Lai open economic zone, Quang Nam province.

The location will host two electricity gas plants with a total of 1500 MW of power capacity. The plants cost some 4.6 billion dollars to build. Vietnam Oil and Gas Group estimated Blue Whale gas field to hold 150 billion cubic meters of gas, the largest gas field discovered so far in Vietnam’s waters.
