In her opening speech, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan underlined the great significance of the session as the legislative body will continue to institutionalize provisions of the 2013 Constitution and regulations related to the socialist-oriented market economy and economic restructuring.

“13 bills to be submitted to the National Assembly for approval at this meeting are attracting the attention of voters nationwide. Some documents relate to human rights and the rights of production, trading, and socio-economic operation,” said Madam Ngan.

The NA will discuss a report on the implementation of policies and laws on food safety since 2011 and a report on the settlement of voters’ petitions.

Three working days will be devoted to the questioning of cabinet members.

“Lawmakers will have a huge workload during the session. We will continue to improve the quality and efficiency of Q&A activities,” Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan said.
