The trip, the first made by Ms. Ngan as NA Chairwoman, demonstrates the increasingly important role of the NA in foreign affairs.

During her visit, Madam Ngan and leaders of the Chinese Party, Government, and NPC will discuss major positions and specific measures to bolster collaboration across all fields. She is also scheduled to meet representatives of leading Chinese enterprises which are interested in expanding their business with Vietnam, as well as the Vietnamese community in China.

Zhang Jiaxiang, former head of Xinhua News Agency bureau in Hanoi, said he expects a fruitful outcome of the visit.

“Vietnam-Sino relations are growing well. I believe that this visit will boost comprehensive cooperation between the two countries,” he said.

Lu Huanli, a Beijing resident, told VOV: “I hope that the Vietnamese leader will visit Northeastern China, because this region and Vietnam are complimentary. I hope that the two countries will continue to live in peace, which facilitates traveling and mutual understanding. I want to see more Vietnamese students in China.”
