Tourism sector aims to maintain 30% monthly growth for 2017
(VOVWORLD) -Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism Nguyen Ngoc Thien said on Monday that in the rest of the year, the National Administration of Tourism needs to maintain a monthly growth of at least 30% to reach the target of receiving 13 million foreign visitors this year.

Mr. Thien said that in the first half of the year, 6.2 million international tourists traveled to Vietnam, 30% more than in the same period last year. He added that Vietnam welcomed more than 1 million foreign travelers in July. The number of domestic travelers in the period hit 40 million.
“Tourism is one of our key economic sectors. The sector is in a high growth period, growing 30% in 7 months. Now the sector must retain this rate for the rest of the year to fulfill its set target.”
