At a meeting with councelors in Ho Chi Minh City on Monday, southern provincial leaders and businesspeople said export revenues to the US, Europe, and Africa remain modest and trade promotion overseas faces various obstacles.

Nguyen Ngoc Hoa, Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City’s Department of Industry and Trade, said: “We suggest the Ministry of Industry and Trade organize seminars to inform businesses of CO certificates, changes in export and import tariffs, consumption customs, and market demands, particularly of markets involved in free trade agreements.”

The Trade Ministry said it will improve communications work while the councelors suggested that Vietnamese businesses firmly penetrate foreign markets by consolidating and promoting their trademarks.
