(VOVWORLD) - Supporting workers’ celebrations and monitoring their payment and bonus for the Lunar New Year festival (Tet) were the focuses of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor’s activities in the fourth quarter of 2018, according to the Confederation’s review meeting in Hanoi on Wednesday.

The Trade Union has coordinated with enterprises and organizations to raise 56 million USD in Tet assistance for 1.6 million workers. More than 170,000 workers have received free bus and train tickets to return home for Tet and 1.3 million workers were given gifts worth 11 million USD. 400 charity houses have been donated to poor employees.
At the review session, the Confederation’s Vice President Tran Thanh Hai said: “The Confederation has worked with affiliates and enterprises to soon announce plan on the wage payment, bonus, and days off for Tet. The Trade Unions have reported that all workers, even the poorest, have received assistance to enjoy a happy Tet.”
