Tribute paid to fallen young volunteers

(VOVworld) – A ceremony to pay tribute to the young volunteers who died on the southwestern border battlefield was held in Ben Cau district, Tay Ninh province on Tuesday.

The ceremony, organized by Ho Chi Minh city’s Young Volunteer force, was part of a series of activities to mark the 67th anniversary of Vietnam’s War Martyrs and Invalids’ Day July 27th. Tran Phu Lu, Commander in chief of the Ho Chi Minh city’s Young Volunteer force, said: “We are trying to develop the memorial site for fallen young volunteers into a popular place for people from HCM city and the eastern provinces to come and pay tribute to the martyrs. This will help the people better understand the young volunteer force and their sacrifices.”

On the same day, An Giang province held a ceremony to receive and bury 183 sets of the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers at Doc Ba Dac martyrs’ cemetery in Tinh Bien district.
