Tribute-paying ceremonies for Vietnamese President held in Indonesia

(VOVWORLD) -The Vietnamese Embassy in Indonesia held a ceremony on Wednesday to pay tribute to President Tran Dai Quang and opened a mourning book.

Ambassador Pham  Vinh Quang together with all the embassy staff and representatives from Vietnamese representative agencies in Jakarta observed a minute of silence and offered incense to remember the late President. The Vietnamese representative delegation in ASEAN led by Ambassador Tran Duc Binh paid respect to President Quang.

Diplomatic corps in Indonesia came to pay tribute to the Vietnamese President. Writing in the mourning book, the foreign senior diplomats extended their deep condolences to the Vietnamese government and people over the death of President Tran Dai Quang.

On the same day, at the ASEAN Secretariat’s headquarters, ahead of the 17th meeting of the Committee of Permanent Representatives to ASEAN, ambassadors, chief representatives, and representatives of the ASEAN Secretariat held a minute of silence to remember the Vietnamese President. The Singaporean Ambassador to ASEAN, on behalf of ASEAN countries, expressed condolences to the Vietnamese President’s family and people.

The Jakarta-based ASEAN Secretariat flies the flag at half-mast from Tuesday to Thursday.
