Turkey shelling IS in revenge for Istanbul bombing

(VOVworld) – Turkish Prime Minister Ahmed Davutoglu said Turkish ground forces shelled 500 times on IS targets in Syria and Iraq to retaliate the suicide attacks in Istanbul claimed by IS. Approximately 200 US fighters have been killed. During a meeting with foreign ambassadors in Turkey, Davutoglu said Ankara is ready to launch airstrike campaigns if necessary and will maintain its determination until IS leaves its border areas.

French Defense Minister Jean Yves Le Drian said the French airforce has continued to strike IS targets in Syria. French bombers attacked IS positions in Mosul’s suburb for the first time on Wednesday.
