Turkey, US resolve diplomatic crisis

(VOVWORLD) - Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu and US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo spoke over the phone Tuesday in an attempt to ease tensions ver the detention of American pastor Andrew Brunson in Turkey.

Cavusoglu and Pompeo discussed bilateral relations and exchanged views on possible solutions to the existing problems between the two countries.  

The same day, Turkish Defence Minister Hulusi Akar and US Defense Secretary Jim Mattis spoke over the phone about bilateral defence deals, Syria, and counterterrorism. A Turkish delegation headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Sedat Önal arrived in Washington on Tuesday to resolve the diplomatic crisis between the US and Turkey.
