Turkish President says more changes possible in cabinet

(VOVworld) - Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said on Friday that there could be more changes in the government line-up after the resignation of Interior Minister Efkan Ala this week. His resignation was resulted from public criticism and suspicion about intelligence failures before a July failed coup and a string of recent bombings in Turkey.

Erdogan told reporters there could be similar changes in other ministries but he had not been informed of any specific moves by Prime Minister Binali Yildirim.

The same day, official gazette of the Turkish government announced that about 8,000 security personnel had been suspended for accusation of having links to the July 15 coup. This has been the largest post-coup purge so far.
