Twin bombings in Pakistan kill 27

(VOVWORLD) - At least 27 people were killed and over 100 were wounded on Friday when twin bombings hit a crowded market in a Shiite-dominated city in Parachinar, the capital of the Kurram tribal region in northwest Pakistan.

The first bomb went off when locals were shopping for the Muslim holiday of Eid-al-Fitr, which ends the holy month of Ramadan. The second one exploded minutes later while rescue services were ongoing at the scene of the first blast. No group has claimed responsibility for the bombings.

Earlier the same day, a suicide car bomber killed 13 in the southwestern city of Quetta.
