Two Koreas agree to conduct joint inspection of North Korea's eastern road

(VOVWORLD) - The two Koreas agreed Thursday to conduct a joint inspection of roads along North Korea's eastern coast ahead of the groundbreaking ceremony next week for a program to modernize and connect railways and roads across the border.

A 10-member South Korean delegation will visit North Korea for 3 days beginning Friday to inspect the 100-km road along the east coast from Goseong to Wonsan. After returning home on Sunday, the delegation will return to North Korea again on Monday to inspect a 4-km road near North Korea's western border town of Kaesong, accompanied by local officials.

A joint survey of the western road was done in August, but the two sides agreed to return to complete the previous inspection.
