This is seen as a “counter-productive” for Prime Minister Theresa May, who chose to call the election to try and strengthen her hand in talks with the EU on Brexit. According to the latest result, with 649 seats out of 650 declared, May’s Conservative Party has won 318 seats, making it impossible for the ruling party to keep its majority. Despite taking a lead over the Labor Party with 260 seats, Ms. May will now look to the DUP in Northern Ireland in order to form a government.
