UK firm Laird opens first plant in Vietnam
(VOVworld) – London-based Laird, a global technology company, launched its first manufacturing facility in the northern province of Bac Ninh on June 11th.

Covering an area of 10,000 m2, the facility will employ 500 workers by 2016. Laird’s operation includes applied materials and wireless systems. Laird’s plant in Vietnam will process electronic components and metals for applied materials for manufacturers of smart phones, portable electronics and other devices in Vietnam.Laird CEO David Lockwood said Vietnam has become a leading manufacturing centre for global technology companies. Laird’s facility in Bac Ninh is one of 50 Laird facilities in Asia, Europe, and America.
