(VOVworld) – UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres has called on international community to donate 2.1 billion USD to support conflicted Yemen until the end of this year.

At a high-level meeting on Tuesday, countries and international organizations committed to helping solve Yemen crisis. The UN head called on concerned parties to engage in peace talks and urged everyone to facilitate the rapid and unimpeded passage of humanitarian aid by air, sea, and land. All infrastructure must remain open and operational. But the UN head said the humanitarian solution for Yemen is just temporary and requires political efforts from related parties to reach a truce.
