(VOVworld) – Venezuela’s Permanent Representative to the UN Human Rights Council Jorge Valero said Tuesday that the UN recognizes human rights in Venezuela as fully in force.

Mr. Valero said UN members applaud Venezuela’s effort to promote equality, national self-determination, and sovereignty in accordance with the UN charter, and the Human Rights Model Venezuela presented at a UN meeting in Geneva, Switzerland. Despite economic instability caused by low oil prices, Valero said Venezuela is committed to ensuring, respecting, and safeguarding human rights.
