UN Security Council likely to meet on North Korea’s ballistic missile test

(VOVWORLD) - The South Korean government has reported that early next week the UN Security Council will likely convene an emergency meeting on North Korea’s Friday test of an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) Hwasong-14.

Earlier UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres strongly condemned the launch considering it a manifest violation of Security Council resolutions.

Guterres urged North Korean leaders to comply fully with its international obligations and work with the international community to resolve the outstanding issues on the Korean Peninsula.
