At a conference in Hanoi on Tuesday to review poverty reduction project in 2011-2015, participants said that in the next phase, the project will promote the community role at the local level and mobilize both the community and the poor themselves. Deputy Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, Nguyen Trong Dam, said: “Most of the models for poverty reduction are related to agricultural production. The poor should decide what they need to do to escape poverty. The project only provides them with regulatory assistance and resources including loans”.
