Tran Hong Phuong, Secretary of the Association of Vietnamese Youth and Students in Washington, called on the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union to organize more forums for Vietnamese students abroad to join.

“There are many things to be said about integration. It’s not simply Vietnam’s integration into the world, but also how other countries integrate with Vietnam. For those who are studying and working abroad, the biggest hurdle is foreign languages. Although many youths study abroad, they are not likely to be good at foreign languages. For example when we organize seminars, they must be held in both Vietnamese and English,” said Phuong.

Delegates to the forum on youths and startups discussed opportunities, challenges, and ways to overcome difficulties during the startup process.

Nguyen Dinh Luan representing the University of Natural Sciences part of Vietnam National University - Ho Chi Minh City, said: “The most important solution is that every person should proactively study and learn about the difficulties posed by the domestic and global situations. Second it’s necessary to have regular exchanges with entrepreneur associations to draw lessons from each failure. Third is to strengthen links among the startup community to create a network for experience sharing.”
