US in no rush to complete trade deal with China

(VOVWORLD) - US President Donald Trump says he is in no rush to complete a trade pact with China. Trump told reporters at the White House on Wednesday that any deal must include protection for intellectual property, a major sticking point in the last few months of negotiations.

Trump said he thinks there is a good chance a deal will be made, in part because China is suffering from US tariffs on its goods. But he acknowledged that Chinese President Xi Jinping may be wary of coming to a planned summit in Florida later this month without an agreement in hand after seeing Trump end a summit in Vietnam with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un without a deal.
