US, Japan, South Korea discuss Korean peninsula’s denuclearization

(VOVWORLD) - The top national security advisers of the United States, South Korea, and Japan met last weekend to discuss North Korea and the “complete denuclearization of the Korean peninsula”.

South Korea’s National Security Office chief Chung Eui-yong, US National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster, and Japan’s National Security Adviser Shotaro Yachi discussed a summit meeting between North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and South Korean President Moon Jae-in and a possible meeting between Kim and US President Donald Trump. The three advisers agreed that “it is important to not repeat the mistakes of the past” and to work together closely.
