(VOVworld) – On Thursday, the Pentagon confirmed the the US military's secretive Cyber Command (Cybercom) is working to destroy the Islamic State group's Internet connections and leave the jihadists in a state of "virtual isolation".

Defense Secretary Ashton Carter said Cybercom was playing an important role in the US-led military operation against IS in both Iraq and Syria. He said the objectives were to interrupt IS’s command and control, and target its ability to move money around, tyrannize and control populations, and recruit externally.
