US President pays unexpected visit to Iraq
(VOVWORLD) - White House spokesperson Sarah Sanders said Wednesday that President Donald Trump and his wife paid an unexpected visit to soldiers at Al Asad Air Base in Iraq.

The trip was Mr. Trump's first visit to Iraq and his first visit to a American base in the Middle East. He said during the visit that the US will not withdraw its troops from Iraq, but would bring US troops in Syria home and make Iraq the main base for attacking the Islamic State, adding that the US “can hit them so fast and so hard they really won’t know what happened.”
President Trump met with soldiers at Ramstein Air Force Base in Germany on his return flight from Iraq.
