US, Russian Presidents discuss international issues by phone
(VOVWORLD) -US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke on the phone Tuesday morning, discussing a range of concerns including the state of affairs in Syria, Afghanistan, and North Korea.

Putin and Trump touched on the terrorist threat and drug production in Afghanistan. While discussing the Iranian nuclear program, Putin restated Moscow's commitment to the full implementation of the 2015 Iran nuclear deal, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action. He called the agreement “an important factor of regional stability” that contributes to global nuclear non-proliferation.
