USTH to help Vietnam Airlines train technicians, aviation managers

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam Airlines, Vietnam Airlines Engineering Company (VAECO), and the University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH) have signed a cooperation agreement to implement a Bachelor of Aviation Technology program and a Master of International Aviation Transport Management program.

Under the deal, USTH will work with Vietnam Airlines to promote the programs and enrollment. The University will prepare the infrastructure, and lecturers.

The national flag carrier has pledged to annually employ 30 graduates of the Bachelor of Aviation Technology program to work at either the corporation or VAECO between 2018 and 2022. It will send qualified staff to register for the Master of International Aviation Transport Management program at the USTH.

VAECO is a maintenance and engineering subsidiary of Vietnam Airlines and provides line maintenance, fleet management, training, landing gear, engine replacement, and base maintenance services at all airports in Vietnam. The company has met the maintenance and repair requirements for all types of aircrafts of Vietnam Airlines and more than 40 international airlines that operate flights to Vietnam.

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has rated Vietnam among the 5 fastest growing aviation markets in the world. Over the past 5 years, the number of domestic passengers has grown more than 130% to 28 million last year. Vietnam Airlines welcomed its 200 millionth passenger, who took a flight from Hanoi to HCM City on December 5.
