Van Don International Airport welcomes first international flight

(VOVWORLD) - Van Don International Airport in Quang Ninh province received its first international flight on Monday, a Chinese aircraft carrying 140 passengers from Shenzhen.

Pham Ngoc Thuy, Director of the Quang Ninh Department of Tourism, said the inauguration of the Van Don-Shenzhen route was the first step of the development strategy of Van Don International Airport to tap into the China, Chinese Taiwan, Thailand, South Korea, and Japan markets. “The airport will welcome 20 Vietnam Airlines’ charter flights from South Korea and several Bamboo Airways flights from Taiwan next month. By the end of this year, Van Don airport will receive flights from Japan. This will boost Quang Ninh province’s tourism,” said Thuy.

The Van Don-Shenzhen route is operated by Donghai Airlines of China with a frequency of 2 flights per week on Monday and Friday.
