(VOV) – The US Federal Reserve Bank’s President Janet Yellen advised Vietnam to set up an independent central bank to create monetary policy, keep inflation in check, stabilize the macro-economy, and create community trust. She stated this while working with Finance Minister Dinh Tien Dung during his working visit to the US on Tuesday on Vietnam’s macroeconomic situation, budget, and fiscal management in 2013 and its orientations for 2014. The meeting focused on reviewing bilateral relations and on Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPP) negotiations. The FED is an independent agency of the Government to manage national monetary policy, supervise and regulate banking organizations, maintain the stability of the financial system, and provide financial services for custodial and deposit organizations, the US Government, and foreign organizations.
