Vietnam aims to export forest products worth 10.5 billion USD in 2019
(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam, for the first time, earned 9.3 billion USD from exports of forestry products last year, up 16%. The sector intends to rake in 10.5 billion USD in 2019.

Nguyen Quoc Tri, Director General of the Vietnam Administration of Forestry, said the forestry’s trade surplus was nearly 7 billion USD, one of the sectors with highest trade surplus.
Tri said that Vietnam has a total of 4,500 wood and wood product processors.
“We’ll work with the Vietnam Wood and Forestry Product Association and enterprises which lack production materials to link them with growers to develop certified forest materials. We’ll increase cooperation with other markets and introduce advanced technologies to help businesses in the field acquire high-tech and meet market standards,” said Tri.
