(VOVworld) – Vietnamese and Australian ties have developed strongly in various fields especially defence.

At a meeting between Deputy Defence Minister Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh and visiting Head of the International Policy Division of Australia’s Department of Defence Scott Dewar in Hanoi on Friday, the two sides agreed to enhance cooperation in staff training, ensuring maritime safety, fighting terrorism and sharing experiences in taking part in the UN peace keeping force.

Mr. Dewar said Australia would continue fostering defence cooperation with Vietnam, exchange information on regional security issues and share experiences as part of the UN.
