Vietnam attaches importance to ties with Japan: NA Chairwoman
(VOVWORLD) -Vietnam always treasures relations with Japan, and wants to develop these ties comprehensively, said National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan at a reception for Yukio Edano, Deputy Secretary General of the Democratic Progressive Party of Japan (DPPJ) in Hanoi on Monday.
Ms. Ngan praised the flourishing ties between the two nations, asking Japanese parliamentarians of the DPPJ uphold their role in fostering the bilateral relationship and mutual understanding.
Yukio Edano said this is the first time the DPPJ has sent a delegation to Vietnam under the memorandum of understanding on enhancing cooperation between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the DPPJ.
He noted that the DPPJ wants to further strengthen its relations with the Communist Party of Vietnam, adding that parliamentarians of the Japanese party are ready to contribute to sustainable development of the Japan-Vietnam relationship based on the Extensive Strategic Partnership.
