(VOVworld)- The 57th high-level meeting of the UN Commission on Narcotic Drugs has opened in Vienna, Austria to discuss the challenges of the implementation of the Political Declaration and Action Plan on International Cooperation towards an Integrated and Balanced Strategy to Counter the World Drug Problem. More than 1,000 delegates attended the event. In his address, Deputy Minister of Public Security, Lieutenant General Le Quy Vuong, head of the Vietnamese delegation stressed that Vietnam had always been an active and responsible member of the UN. He said Vietnam actively participated in programs on drug and crime prevention and controls at various bilateral and multilateral forums. Vuong said the Vietnamese government had put in place a range of measures to tackle drug crimes.
