Vietnamese and Belgian leaders agreed to strengthen relations between Vietnam and the EU, particularly in the framework of the Partnership and Cooperation Agreement (PCA).

Vietnam and Belgium hailed efforts by ASEAN and China to fully and effectively implement the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea (DOC) and ensure a prompt signing of the Code of Conduct in the East Sea (COC).

Belgium supports Vietnam’s candidacy for a non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council for the 2020-2021 term.
