Vietnam boosts ties with Indonesia, New Zealand, Australia
(VOVWORLD) - Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue received diplomatic representatives of Indonesia, New Zealand, and Australia in Hanoi on Wednesday to discuss cooperation in preparation for his upcoming visits to these countries later this month.

While talking with Indonesian Ambassador to Vietnam Ibnu Hadi, Deputy PM Hue said the Vietnamese Government strongly supports creating a Vietjet Air direct route between Ho Chi Minh City and Jakarta as a way to boost trade and people-to-people exchange. He noted that Vietnam always attaches importance to multifaceted cooperation with Indonesia, considering it a strategic partner.

At a reception for New Zealand Ambassador to Vietnam Wendy Matthews, Mr. Hue said Vietnam wants to work with New Zealand in agriculture, education and training, and disaster risk management.
Mr. Hue called on the two sides to enhance coordination at multilateral forums and study the elevation of relations from comprehensive partnership to strategic partnership.

He told the deputy head of the Australian Embassy Mission to Vietnam, Layton Pike, that Vietnam appreciates economic-trade-investment ties with Australia and is eager to discuss stronger collaboration and shared prosperity.
