Vietnam calls for more support from OECD

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnamese Minister of Finance Dinh Tien Dung, Chairman of the APEC 2017 Finance Ministers’ Meeting (FMM), expects to receive further support from the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

Meeting OECD Secretary-General Angel Gurria on the sidelines of the APEC meeting in Quang Nam province on Friday, Mr. Dung said Vietnam is striving to approach OECD’s standards in improving the market economy mechanism to increase its competitiveness. He called on the OECD to continue helping Vietnam in carrying out prioritized projects for mutual benefit.

Meanwhile, Mr. Gurria said that he is willing to assist Vietnam in preparing and chairing activities within the framework of the APEC 2017 Finance Ministers’ Process (FMP).
