(VOVworld) – Vietnamese ambassador Le Huy Hoang assumed the role of the ASEAN Committee Chair to South Africa at the Committee’s recent meeting in capital Pretoria.

The ceremony was attended by the ambassadors of Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Myanmar to South Africa. Addressing the event, Indonesian ambassador Sjahril Sabaruddin, former ASEAN Committee chair, expressed hope Hoang will make more important contributions to strengthening solidarity, consensus and close cooperation within the ASEAN community in Pretoria, and boosting relations between ASEAN and South Africa.
