Vietnam contributes actively to the WHO Executive Board

(VOVworld) – Health Minister Nguyen Thi Kim Tien is in Geneva to attent the 140th session of the WHO Executive Board. The Vietnamese delegation joined the session as an official member representing 37 member states in the Western Pacific in the 2016-2019 term.

The executive board has shorlisted 3 candidates to be selected as the WHO Director General this May. Delegates also discussed the preparation and monitoring in epidemic responses, contangious diseases, financial and administrative issues. The Vietnamese Health Minister gave opinions on global and regional health issues. She met the WHO Chief of anti-tuberculousis program to review Vietnam’s and the world’s strategy to eradicate tuberculousis.
