Vietnam, Czech have strong potential to increase trade revenue

(VOVWORLD) - The Czech Republic is defined as one of Vietnam’s strategic export markets for 2010-2020, said Vo Tan Thanh, Vice President of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry at the Vietnam-Czech Business Forum in Ho Chi Minh City on Thursday.

The Czech Republic is defined as one of Vietnam’s strategic export markets for 2010-2020, said Vo Tan Thanh, Vice President of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry at the Vietnam-Czech Business Forum in Ho Chi Minh City on Thursday. Vietnam imports Czech chemicals, equipment, and plastics and exports footwear, textiles, seafood, coffee, and pepper, he added. 

Addressing the forum, Jaroslav Hanak, President of the Confrderation of Industry of the Czech Republic, highlighted Czech businesses’ increasing needs for cooperation with Vietnam, through which, the Czech Republic can access and expand into other Asian markets.

Hailing Vietnam’s economic growth over the past few years, Jiri Koliba, Czech Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, affirmed Vietnam as an important economic partner of the Czech Republic. The Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade has selected Vietnam as one of its 12 strategic export markets until 2020, with major export items like machines and spare parts, he emphasised. He proposed cooperation in production lines, processing equipment, automatic watering systems serving high-tech agriculture, and medical equipment.
