Anh Duong Sao Company Director Pham Ngoc Tu revealed that his company will consider buying another 20 tons of lychees to export to the market this year. Mr. Tu said: “Demands for lychees in the US market are higher because the crop harvest in Mexico is two weeks later than Vietnam. In 2015, we exported two containers of lychees to the US. We expect the figure is higher this year. The US market is competitive. We plan to export 20 tons of lychees to the US this year”.

Bac Giang province is expected to yield 130,000 tons  of lychee this year, 40% of which will be exported. Experts said strict requirements from demanding markets like the US, Australia, Japan and the EU create a motive for farmers to produce and process products according to global standards.
