Vietnam eyes stronger trade with Hong Kong

(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said Vietnam expects strong growth of two-way trade with Hong Kong based on the potential of bilateral relations. Mr Phuc received Hong Kong’s Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development Yau Tang-wah in Hanoi on Thursday.

Prime Minister Phuc said Vietnam is striving to improve its investment environment and create optimal conditions for foreign investors, including those from Hong Kong. He said Vietnam and Hong Kong need to enact measures and action plans to boost cooperation, adding that free trade agreements are opening up more cooperation opportunities for both sides.

Mr. Yau said he is accompanied on this visit by Hong Kong firms seeking investment opportunities in Vietnam. Hong Kong wants to be a reliable partner of Vietnam, Yau said, adding that Hong Kong can provide Vietnam with professional services in finance, law, insurance, and accounting.
