The Vietnam Farmers’ Association convenes the 8^th meeting of its Central Committee on Thursday in Ho Chi Minh city. The meeting reviewed last year’s performance and the 3 year implementation of the Party Central Committee’s resolution on farmers, agriculture and rural areas. Reports at the meeting said that over the past 3 years, Vietnam’s agriculture has developed comprehensively and steadily with the agricultural structure shifting to commodity production thanks to uniform policies. The Vietnam Farmers’ Association will continue to undertake 6 major tasks, including providing vocation training to 230,000 farmers and assisting farmers in enhancing their product values in domestic and foreign markets.
