Vietnam Fatherland Front President visits Russia

(VOVworld) – Vietnam Fatherland Front President Nguyen Thien Nhan has concluded his two-day visit to Russia.

The delegation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front worked with the Russian Federal Council.
During his talk with Chairman of the Russian Federal Council Evgheni Busmin both sides agreed to promote their bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership. Mr. Nhan said: “Vietnam and Russia have enjoyed cooperation for half a century and now have a special comprehensive strategic partnership. Meetings of our leaders have confirmed our determination to promote bilateral relations”.  

On Tuesday, the VFF delegation met with Alexander Bretralov, general secretary of the All-Russia People’s Front (ARPF), which has similar functions and responsibilities with the VFF. Alexander Bretralov noted that the VFF and the ARPF should foster links and share experience.

The VFF leader Nguyen Thien Nhan introduced Russian officials to the role played by the VFF in national liberation struggles in the past and national construction and defense at present.

Nhan attended the opening ceremony of the Vietnam Cultural Days in Russia and met with representatives of the Russian veteran’s association and the Russia-Vietnam Friendship Association.
