Vietnam, France strengthen bilateral ties

(VOVworld)- The French Ambassador to Vietnam Betrand Lortholary has expressed his hope that more Vietnamese enterprises would invest in France in the near future.

At a meeting with journalists on Thursday, the French ambassador said that through the French Development Agency, French businesses have implemented a number of projects to help Vietnam cope with impact of climate change. From 2006 to 2015, the French Development Agency implemented 17 projects in the field with a total capital of 525 million euros. He said the agency will also implement a project on air quality surveillance in Hanoi in the near future.

The diplomat said France prioritized cooperation with Vietnam in such areas as peacekeeping activities, education cooperation, military medical training, national defense, and economics. He said the French embassy would establish French spaces in major universities in Vietnam, a branch of the French Institute in HCM City, and a partner agency of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry to strengthen links between students of the French language and enterprises.
