100 outstanding blood donors are honored

Speaking at the event, Truong Thi Mai, Head of the Mass Mobilization Commission of the Party Central Committee, said that in Vietnam blood reserves only meet 70 percent of the blood demand, so it is important to make the public more aware of the need for blood donations. Mrs. Mai called for more involvement of the Red Cross Society, the Youth Union, and society: “I hope that the honorees today will continue their beautiful deed of giving blood to save life, and encourage their relatives and friends to donate blood for the community’s health. I hope that more people, especially pupils and students, will respond to the blood donation campaign”.

A cycling race, a tour of heritage sites, and offering of incense to the Hung Kings at the Hung Kings historical relic site in Phu Tho province are part of activities to mark World Blood Donor Day.
