(VOVworld) – At a reception for India’s Union Shipping Minister G. K. Vasan in Hanoi on Friday, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung said that he appreciated the results of talks between G. K. Vasan and the Vietnamese Minister of Transport Dinh La Thang. Dung said agreement reached by the two ministries during the visit would contribute significantly to bilateral relationship. Vietnam wants to boost cooperation with India in all areas, benefiting both sides, Dung said, adding that both countries need to support each other in international forums for the sake of stability. The Prime Minister suggested India soon start to negotiate the signing of an agreement to replace the aviation agreement signed by the two countries in 1993.

Earlier the same day, ministers G. K. Vasan and Dinh La Thang signed an agreement on maritime trade between Vietnam and India. The agreement is expected to help boost maritime transports, economic exchange and trade. The agreement serves as basis for both sides to boost cooperation in ship building and crew-member training.
