(VOVworld) – Foreign economists say Vietnam’s economy remains one of the world’s best performers as its manufacturing rose. Gross domestic product increased 6.68 percent in the fourth quarter from a year earlier while the economy grew by 6.21 percent in 2016.


Frederic Neumann, co-head of Asian economic research at HSBC Holdings Plc in Hong Kong said Vietnam is in a sweet spot right now. He predicted that strong growth will persist over the next several years and Vietnam was continuing to gain market shares in exports.
Foreign companies continue to invest in Vietnam to take advantage of its highly competitive labor and low costs. The outlook is bright and it is one of the standout economies in Asia, Neumann said.
