(VOVworld) – The fourth Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM) meeting between Japan and Vietnam took place in Hanoi on Tuesday. Nagai Katsuro with Japan’s embassy in Vietnam highlighted the implementation of the JCM in the framework of the Vietnam-Japan Memorandum of Understanding for low-carbon development, saying it has boosted the joint efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, contributing to the global adaptation to climate change. He added that the projects on green driving with electronic speed-meters and power conservation in hospitals and hotels address issues related to waste, transportation, and energy in Vietnam. Initiated by Japan, the Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM) boosts bilateral cooperation with developing countries in greenhouse gas emission reduction through the adoption of Japanese advanced low-carbon technologies.
