Vietnam joins the 70th Session of the UN ESCAP

(VOVworld) - Deputy Foreign Minister Ha Kim Ngoc has participated at the 70th Session of the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific. During the five-day meeting in Bangkok, delegates initiated measures to ensure sustainable development and promote regional connectivity. Deputy Minister Ngoc called for more efforts to foster peace, stability, especially maritime freedom and safety while resolving disputes by peaceful means based on international law. East Timorese Prime Minister as the chairman of the meeting and other participants shared Vietnam’s view on this common issue of interest. The Vice Minister suggested more support from the Commission in Vietnam’s fulfillment of its Millennium Development Goals by 2015 and its implementation of the UN sustainable development roadmap.
