Vietnam keen on international integration

(VOVworld) – Vietnam advocates active international integration in order to be a reliable friend and responsible member of the world community, according to Chairman of the National Assembly Office Nguyen Hanh Phuc.

Addressing the politics and security session of the 22nd Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum (APPF) meeting in Mexico, Phuc noted that Vietnam pursues an unswerving foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, peace, development cooperation, and diversified multilateral relations. He went on to say that the National Assembly of Vietnam has helped to create a favorable environment for national development, defended Vietnam’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, elevated Vietnam’s position globally, and contributed to peace, national independence, democracy, and social progress.

During the 4-day forum, which hat will conclude Thursday, participants have touched upon economics, politics, security, environmental pollution, and post-2015 development targets. Vietnamese delegates discussed bilateral and regional issues with delegates from Mexico and Japan.
